CRMC Hosting Stroke Support Group

COOKEVILLE, TENN. – Cookeville Regional Medical Center has a stroke support group for patients and
their families who have had a stroke.

“Having a stroke can be life-changing and there are many steps to getting back to everyday life and that
can be emotional and frustrating so we are excited to offer this support group to those who have gone
through the journey of having a stroke,” Carol Lynam, Occupational Therapist at Cookeville Regional
Medical Center. “Each month there will be a new topic presented for the patient.”

On April 4, the stroke support group had a presentation on cybersecurity, presented by Curt
Powers, Technical Services Manager at Cookeville Regional.

The support group meets the first Thursday of each month for one hour starting at 1 p.m. at the
Inpatient Rehabilitation Center’s dining room located at 215 West Sixth St. in Cookeville. Attendees can
park on the west side of the building at the corner of West Sixth Street and N. Whitney Avenue for
closer parking and entry into the building.

For further information about the stroke support group, or to register to attend contact the Inpatient
Rehabilitation Center at 931-783-2800.
