Plane Crashes In Jackson County Due To Technical Issue

JACKSON COUNTY, TN —  A Tennessee pilot was starting to take off from the Jackson County Airport to head to a show in Wisconsin when he crashed his airplane just past the runway.

 

On Tuesday, July 16 Jackson County Emergency services responded to a plane crash at the local airport. According to reports, the pilot of the aircraft was not injured even after his plane landed 50 yards from the runway. In a press release, it was said that wind may have caused the issue that caused the crash.

Jackson Co. Tenn- The pilot and only occupant of a small aircraft was not injured in an airplane crash near the Jackson County Airport today. At approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon Jackson County 911 received multiple reports of an airplane crash at the Jackson County Airport. Jackson County Sheriff’s Dept, EMS, Rescue, and Fire responded to the scene. Upon their arrival they found the pilot of the plane who stated he was flying from Tennessee to Wisconsin when his plane had a mechanical issue. He was attempting to make an emergency landing, but a strong head wind caused him to crash approximately 50 yards shy of the run way. He refused transport from EMS.
