Organizers Announce Date for 18th Annual Upper Cumberland Senior and Caregiver Expo

 

Plans are taking shape for the 18 th Annual Upper Cumberland Senior and Caregiver Expo which is scheduled to take place Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 8:30am to 1:00pm at Life Church in Cookeville, Tenn.

Organized by the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability, a division of the Upper Cumberland Development District, the Senior Expo brings together businesses, service providers, seniors and caregivers in a one-day networking event.

Participants have the opportunity to gather resources from vendors, health screenings, receive door prizes, and participate in hands-on educational activities, and free lunch provided by Platinum Sponsor, Quality of Families. Each year, the Senior Expo attracts hundreds of seniors and caregivers from all fourteen counties in the Upper Cumberland region, with optional transportation being coordinated at each county’s senior center.

The AAAD staff recently met with corporate sponsors to discuss planned activities
and this year’s theme, A Day At The Show: Come Connect, Create, & Contribute theme.
“We have a great group of corporate sponsors this year,” stated Upper Cumberland AAAD Family Caregiver Coordinator, Clare Farless. "Our sponsors make the Senior Expo a fun, successful and valuable event for seniors and caregivers in our region.”

In conjunction with the Expo, there will also be the opportunity for a Caregiver training from 9am to 12 pm.
