So wonderful to see some sunshine and warmer temperatures! Businesses are beginning to open back up under the latest protective measures. Please follow the guidelines and stay well. Here is a link for you to go read the most current information for yourself. Tennessee State Parks are beginning to re-open. Some small classes are to be held at Cordell Hull in the coming weeks. Check their calendar. As always, support local businesses. Carry-out services at local restaurants and many stores are still available along with those that are opening for sit down dining. Links for our businesses can be found here.

This weekend: The River Grill will open for the season tonight at 4PM. Starting today, The Farmhouse Restaurant is trying a new option added to their menu items. They will have a new Meat & 1, 2, or 3 or a little of everything plate. Rustic Roots Boutique will have an online sale on Saturday, May 2 at 5PM. Details hereObey River Grill is opening this weekend and will have Mother’s Day Specials the following weekend as well as East Port Marina’s In Water Kayak, Padddleboard and Alumicraft Boat Show. Sells Family Store will re-open on Monday, May 4th. Their hours for now will be M, T, T, F from 10-6 and Saturdays from 10-2 – unless the Grandchildren are visiting and then they will close. 🙂

Stonecom is doing something special for the 2020 Graduates! Please visit the press release here for more information – be sure to click through for the second page. PCHS has also worked out a plan with the local Health Department to have a small Graduation Ceremony for the Seniors.

We will have our May Chamber Board of Directors Meeting on May 14 at 11AM at the Dixie Cafe.

The 2020 Census is underway! If you haven’t taken the time to fill out your survey, please do so soon. It is very important to our area – perfect example is the amount of money coming to Byrdstown and Pickett County as a grant to assist the area from lost revenue due to the COVID-19 virus.
