The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend. Get out and enjoy it. Just remember all the safeguards in place, if not for yourself, but for those less able to cope with an added illness. Here is a link  explaining the most current guidelines in place for Tennessee and this is the one for those visiting our neighbors in Kentucky: link (as we have some Chamber Members located in Kentucky).

Live music returns tonight at the Dixie Cafe featuring The Bilbrey’s and Saturday night the Cross Brothers band will be IN THE HOUSE!

Tomorrow (May 30, 2020) is FREE DUMP DAY/SPRING CLEAN-UP DAY. You can dispose of your household garbage between the hours of 8:00AM-3:00PM tomorrow free of charge. They are also encourage everyone to help clean-up roadways and such. No charge for that disposal either as I understand. Pick it up Pickett County! Tomorrow is also the first day of the Spring Dale Hollow Bass Classic at Sunset Marina & Resort. We will be there around 5:30AM (May 30th) to complete late registrations and hand out cards to those that have pre-registered. It’s not to late if you want to participate!

Tennessee State Parks are open. Check the Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park’s calendar for information on upcoming events – several events are coming up.

June 6-12 is Free Fishing Week in Tennessee. Bald Rock Package will be holding a Grand Re-Opening on June 6. Whistle Stop Tavern will resume their pool tournaments on June 4 & 10. Things are getting back to a new normal.

If things keep improving we would likely start the Business of the Week program back up sometime in June. BUT WE NEED YOUR INPUT!!! If you are a Chamber Member and have not done so yet, please fill out our survey. You can access the survey here. IF YOU DO NOT SEND IN THE SURVEY, YOU WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE GROUP THAT THE COMMITTEE WILL CHOOSE FROM. Also, if any business is following the Tennessee Pledge rules and would like a poster to put up, OR OTHER ITEMS, stop by our office and let us know.
