Cookeville, TN – On February 10, 2021, Cookeville Police Officers were called to the area of Woodland Heights after a deceased male was found by Cookeville City Water Department employees. The body was discovered in the wooded area north of the dead-end street.
Detectives initiated an investigation and identified the body to be 25-year-old Dylan C. Jones of Cookeville.
On February 4, 2021, a family member of Mr. Jones contacted police asking for a welfare check after he had left a residence in Cookeville. The family member reported that Mr. Jones walked away from the residence six (6) days before police notification. He did not return causing concerns by family members. Sadly, Mr. Jones was not located by anyone until he was discovered deceased.
At this point in the investigation, no foul play is suspected. Mr. Jones’s body was sent for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. This investigation is still on-going. The Cookeville Police Department is asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious around the Woodland Heights area between January 29th and February 10th to contact the Criminal
