Mom Talk Conference Is Bringing Moms Together in 2021

COOKEVILLE, TENN. – The two-day women’s conference that is geared towards motherhood is

back in 2021. The fifth annual Mom Talk conference is taking place August 20-21 at Washington

Avenue Baptist Church in Cookeville, Tenn.

Hilarious storyteller, author, and theological scholar, Lisa Harper, is joining the Mom Talk stage

this year and is anything but stereotypical. Her vocational resume includes six years as the

director of Focus on the Family’s national women’s ministry where she created the popular

Renewing the Heart conferences, attended by almost 200,000 women, followed by six years as

the women’s ministry director at a large church in Nashville. Her academic resume includes a

Masters of Theological Studies with honors from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. Now a sought-

after Bible teacher and speaker, Lisa was on the Women of Faith national arena tour for eight

years and speaks at many other large multi-denominational events as well as at hundreds of

churches all over the world. She’s had twelve books published including A Perfect Mess: Why

You Don’t Have To Worry About Being Good Enough For God and her latest, Believing Jesus: Are

You Willing To Risk Everything?. She also has three best-selling video-based Bible study

curriculums with LifeWay: Malachi: A Love That Never Lets Go; Hebrews: The Nearness of King

Jesus; Mark: The Jesus We’re Aching For; and The Sacrament of Happy (released in 2017).

“Lisa is high energy, loves the Lord, has great knowledge of Scripture, and an amazing story of

how she became the mother of Missy,” said Hannah Davis, chair of Mom Talk. “Our goal at

Mom Talk is that women walk away encouraged through the Word, feel refreshed and

encounter God in a way that will change the way they walk in motherhood and womanhood

forever. You do not want to miss this year’s conference.”

Friday, Aug. 20 doors open at 5 p.m. and the conference starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21

doors open at 8 a.m. with main speaker beginning at 9:15 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. Breakout

sessions take place on Saturday at various times and attendees can expect topics on marriage,

parenting teenagers, single moms and blending families, fitness, new to motherhood and more.

These breakouts are led by local speakers in the Upper Cumberland.

Attendees will experience community at the free cupcake social on Friday night and free donuts

on Saturday morning. Mom Shop is back open where women can go shopping and talk with

other women. Dinner and lunch are available to pre-purchase and the deadline to register for

meals is August 16. Childcare is also available, but limited, and deadline to register is Saturday,

Aug. 6.

“Breakouts are some of the best moments at Mom Talk. You get to break up into smaller

communities and learn together. You realize that you are not alone in your journey of

motherhood. There are so many people walking in the same season,” said Davis. “We will have

some fun giveaways throughout the event as well. So, if you are a mom, invest in yourself and

come join us for worship, laughs, community and the Word.”
