Cumberland County’s Jaxon Reed to Compete in TN Junior Cup

Cumberland County senior Jaxon Reed will compete in one of Tennessee Junior golf’s most prestigious tournaments this weekend, the Tennessee Junior Cup.

The TN junior cup pits the top 10 boys in East Tennessee against the top 10 in the west and the top 4 girls on each side facing off.

Reed, a Lee University commit, represents East Tennessee in the two-day tournament this weekend at The Grove Club in College Grove, TN.

Reed won the District 7AA boys golf tournament at TTU’s Golden Eagle Golf Club last week with a 68 (-2) and will compete in the Region 4AA tournament on Monday morning following this weekend’s TN Junior Cup.

In the junior cup, Reed and the other competitors will face off in three matches, including an alternate-shot match Saturday morning and a four-ball match in the afternoon.

Sunday morning will see players face off in singles matches with a player from East Tennessee facing off against a player from West TN.

PGA Tour professional Scott Stallings will be on hand for the TN Junior Cup. Stallings, a Tennessee Tech alumni founded the cup and hosts it at The Grove.
