The Livingston Academy Wildcats used a big second inning to take down Clay County 11-2 on Thursday night.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning, LA piled on five runs in the second thanks to several big hits. Among them were a Dawson Ledbetter RBI single, a sacrifice fly by Aaron Moffitt and an RBI double by Carson Parrott.
That gave Ledbetter all the support he needed in the start, as he threw four innings of two-run ball with five strikeouts for the victory.
Clay finally scratched across two runs in the top of the fourth, but Livingston answered right back with four runs in the bottom of the frame. Two came home on bases-loaded walks, while a sacrifice fly and an error brought home the other two runs.
Parrott drove home the final run for the Wildcats with an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth, as Livingston cruised to the 11-2 victory over the Bulldogs.
It’s Livingston’s 13th straight win, and they’ll take on York Institute on Monday.
