Baseball season in the Upper Cumberland wrapped up Wednesday night as Gordonsville and Smith County fell in their respective TSSAA state tournament matchups.
Riverside defeated Smith County 7-6 in the Class 2A contest while Gordonsville fell to McKenzie in Class 1A, 7-4.
The Owls wrap up 2024 at 22-13 overall and runners-up in District 5-2A and Region 3-2A along with making the Class 2A state tournament under first-year head coach Malone Smith.
Gordonsville finished their 2024 campaign at 24-11 overall and the champions of District 7-1A and Region 4-1A while advancing to the state tournament under head coach Travis Humes.
