SPRING FLING DAY 3: Gordonsville Softball Clinches State Championship Berth Via 13-0 Victory Over Wartburg

The defending Class 1A softball state champion Gordonsville Tigerettes will have a chance to defend their title on Saturday as they defeated Wartburg Thursday morning at McKnight Park.

The Tigerettes hit 3 home runs in 4 innings as center fielder Abby Brinkley, catcher Bailey Stewart and pitcher Kailey Plumlee each left the yard.

Stewart went 3-3 with 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored, a triple and a homer.

Plumlee tossed a no-hitter as she struck out 11 batters while surrendering 1 walk.

The Tigerettes are set to face the winner of Jo Byrns and Hollow Rock-Bruceton on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Middle Tennessee State University.
