Let the Games Begin, UCUSC

I want to begin by saying thank you for registering your child to play rec soccer with the Upper Cumberland United Soccer Club.  We are delighted to have you and are glad you are a part of the club.  We’ve had some less than desirable weather the last couple of weeks, but tomorrow looks like a great day for games.  As we get ready to begin games tomorrow I wanted to send a few notes and reminders.
1) All of our coaches are volunteer and I’m very thankful for their willingness to invest their time with our children.  Be sure to thank them.
2) Game and practice schedules are available on our website. ( http://www.uppercumberlandsoccer.com )
3) There have been some requests by parents to order shirts like the players.  We will be offering those this season for $12.  I will get an order form to your coach  for you to sign up.
4) Concessions will be available at the complex during game time.
5) The complex we play at is owned by the county and they have asked that we not park along the access road.  Please see the note below from John Ross Albertson, Director of Putnam County Parks and Recreation.  Please be respectful of his wishes as they look to protect our children.
“I wanted to send out an e-mail as I did last year reminding you that parking along the access roads is not permitted and is unacceptable. It is dangerous and causes potential hazards. Also, having these access roads blocked potentially slows an emergency medical response and prevents handicapped individuals from being able to access the lower fields. Moving forward, our department will be working aggressively to address this issue by using two methods 1. Individuals vehicles that are parked along the access road will be towed at the owner’s expense 2. If the individual is still in the vehicle then the individual will be asked to leave the facility and if the individual does not follow this request then the police will be called to assist in removing the vehicle. While this may not seem to be an important issue to many, it is extremely important to our department as it could mean a slowed response to a medical emergency of the children we love. I would ask that each of you share this information with your clubs/organizations because I truly do not desire to have to start towing vehicles, however I will do what is necessary to protect the safety of our youth and the accessibility of our sports complex. Thanks.”
Thank again for your registration and your cooperation. Enjoy the season! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
All the Best,
Jason E. Gentry
